CONSERVATION AREA

The southeast slope of Mt. Timpanogos, located within the Wasatch Mountain Range of north central Utah, is a diverse landscape of rocky forests and alpine meadows. The North Fork of the Provo River courses through the valley—a watershed supporting a diversity of ecosystems, plants and animals, and humans.

Sundance Nature Alliance is an environmental nonprofit organization committed to protecting this land throughout our community by igniting curiosity and inspiring residents and visitors to love, learn, and act to protect our natural world.

The Sundance Community

Sundance Community consists of approximately 5,000 acres of privately owned land surrounded by 245,000 acres of U.S. Forest Service lands, including 10,518 acre Mt. Timpanogos Wilderness, designated by Congress in 1978.

Within the 5,000 acres of private land are approximately 1400 acres of land protected through conservation easements held by Utah Open Lands and another 1547 acres protected by a restrictive covenant held by Sundance Nature Alliance.
