Redford Family Nature & Wildlife Preserve

On October 4th, 1998, a group of community members gathered on a ridge along the Alpine Scenic Loop to celebrate the dedication of the Redford Family Nature & Wildlife Preserve. The ceremony marked the gift of a conservation easement to Utah Open Lands, forever protecting 864 acres of scenic vistas, wildlife habitat, and pristine canyon lands bordering the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness Area.

This Preserve includes mountain wetland meadows, spruce/fir forests, aspen groves, scrub oak, perennial streams, and ponds, providing important habitat for elk, mule deer, moose, cougar, black bear, songbirds, and raptors.

This protected landscape supports habitat for elk, mule deer, black bears, songbirds, and raptors. Visitors are able to hike the Pahneekavits Trail, a Ute name meaning “Look at That,” appropriately named as this trail provides views spanning Mt. Timpanogos Cirques, to Utah’s Uintah Mountain Range.

Your gift today protects our future here on the southeast slope of Mt. Timpanogos.
